What a Weekend!

We had a baby blessing to go to on Sunday in Salt Lake, so we decided to go up to Park City on Saturday and play and then drive down to SLC and get a hotel. It was so much fun to spend the weekend with our little family.
We drove to Park City and saw the beautiful waterfalls through Provo canyon. We went down the Alpine Slide which Oakley had to do herself and loved! But we also had to ride the lift up which scared the crap out of her! She refused to look down or look behind us, and had a death grip on my arm the whole time. I didn't know she was so scared of heights! After we did the slide we went to the Columbia store to buy some winter coats for the kids. While we were there Kix decided to run away from us. Seriously we couldn't find him for like 5 minutes. I almost had a heart attack! I was thinking horrid things like someone had snatched him. It was HORRIBLE! Finally we found him and decided that we probably should invest in those kid leash things. I've always thought they were crazy, but with a kid like Kix you definitely need something like that!
After that fun adventure we drove to Salt Lake, got some dinner, and a hotel room. It was Kixs first time in a hotel and he did really good. We went swimming before bed which is always fun. And it was nice to not be in a mad rush to get to the church on time the next morning.
The baby blessing was very nice. Brent did a good job and Cadence look pretty in her dress. We went and had some lunch afterward where Kix spilled pop all over him and so the wasps that were there kept trying to land on him. One succeeded and he was so scared he screamed bloody murder. We all thought it had stung him, which thankfully it didn't! After that he climbed in my lap and made me hold him tight! Oakley was playing on the playground with all the cousins and having fun during all this! We decided to take the kids to Cabelas on the way home since Kix has never been and its been a while since Oakley has been there. They LOVED the fish tanks! And it was fun to watch their faces as they saw things like the Zebras, the Bears, or huge elk. If any of you have never been to Cabelas and you have kids (or even if you don't) you should definitely take them. Even if you aren't a hunter. It is cool to see all the mounts they have.
Finally we were on our way home. We got home, unpacked, made a little dinner, and it was time for bed. Thanks Cade for taking us out for such a fun weekend! I love spending time together as a family!

Grandpa Riding

Cades Grandpa Riding passed away on the 11th of this month. His funeral was Friday. It was sad but happy. It's always hard to say goodbye to someone you love, but knowing that he is with Grandma again and that he is happy and healthy makes it alot easier. Grandpa was an amazing person, and always made me feel like part of the family. I always felt like a granddaughter and not just someone who married into the family. We love you grandpa you will be missed!

A few things

Here are the boots Oakley got for her birthday. I forgot to take pictures of them the other day. She LOVES them and was way excited to have her own pair of cowboy boots!

Just a picture of me and Cade. Man I love this guy so freakin much!

 Kix being just like dad!

We were just hanging out last sunday and Kix came and climbed on top of me. Well within a couple minutes he was asleep! So I spent the next hour or so stuck like this while he had himself a nice nap!

Oakley's 7th Birthday

My little girl turned 7 yesterday! I can't believe that she is that old! I told her she could choose anything she wanted for dinner and she chose to go get pizza at the Pizza House. Then we came home and opened presents and had some cake. I love you Oakley, you make me so happy and I am so proud to be your mom!

Not my greatest cake, but it made her happy!

She was sooo excited to get a pillow pet! I don't think she has put it down since!

July Birthdays

The end of July we had a big birthday party for all of the July birthdays in our family. Mom used to be the only one, but in the last 3 years we have added 5 more! It was really fun to have everyone around (we missed you whitney). We had some pools out for the kids, had a BBQ, and opened presents. It was fun!
