So Tired

Kix must have been pretty tired today. He layed down on the floor, covered himself with a blanket, and fell asleep. He doesn't take naps very often, so for him to just lay down and fall asleep was kinda surprising to me. I love this cute kid!

Halloween 2011

We had a fun Halloween this year. Oakley went as a mermaid and Kix was a dinosaur. We went to a truck-or-treat at the church, and then hit a few houses. The kids loaded up their pumpkins and brought home lots of treats!

Even I decided to dress up this year. About an hour before we left I threw this "rocker chick" costume together. My kids thought I was pretty funny!

Pumpkin Carving Contest

We had our annual pumpkin carving contest again this year. I think this is going to be that last year we do it for a while though. Everyone seems to be getting burned out since we have been doing it for 10 years this year. Next year I think we will just be doing a regular Halloween party. We had a lot of fun though, and once again my pumpkin came in top 3! I think I have placed in the top 3 every single year!

This was my pumpkin this year

Carving Pumpkins

We had a fun time carving pumpkins this year. Oakley did almost her whole pumpkin all by herself. She did an angry birds pumpkin. (she is kinda obsessed with that game.) She only need a little bit of my help. Kix liked helping me carve his. He did a frankenstein one that turned out really cute!

I was surprised that Oakley actually cleaned hers out this year. She always thinks that it is so gross.

The finished product! Very very cute pumpkins!

Corn Season

Well corn season is underway, so that means lots of working hours for Cade. He had to chop a bunch by the house, so Kix and I would walk outside and jump in the chopper with him and ride for most of the day. We love being able to go ride around with him all day!

Kix loved finding corn cobbs and would carry them around!

Las Vegas

Tiffany and Dan were blessing sweet baby Gemma this last weekend, so most of my family drove down to Vegas to be a part of it. It was so fun to see Tiffy and her awesome family!
Saturday we went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. It was really fun and the kids loved it! After that we went and watched the twins play soccer. It is seriously funny to watch kids that age that play sports! Later that night we went to a free movie in the park where they also had free carousel rides. We spent alot of time on the carousel!
We had a little birthday party for Zaylor and then everyone surprised me with presents. I have the best family ever!  I had so much fun hanging out with you guys all weekend!

I thought this was cute of the kids with their arms around each other.

We had a great time, but I was excited to get home to my cute hubby! Thanks Brooks Family for letting us invade your house. Thanks Morgan for riding down with me. Thanks mom and dad for letting me follow you guys so we didn't end up in California or something! And thanks to all of you for the great birthday presents! Love you all!

Zoo 2011

We went to the zoo today and had a really fun time. All the animals were really active, so that made it even better! I wish that they had the bear exhibit open but I guess we'll have to wait till next year. I always love to go do things with my family!

The favorite thing for my family is to go feed the ducks! Kix and Oakley would have stayed there all day! Love of waterfoul must be in their blood!

Acorns

We went and cut a load of wood and the acorns were just coming on. The kids thought they were so cool and picked a whole bunch of them! I Love being out in nature with my family!

What a Weekend!

We had a baby blessing to go to on Sunday in Salt Lake, so we decided to go up to Park City on Saturday and play and then drive down to SLC and get a hotel. It was so much fun to spend the weekend with our little family.
We drove to Park City and saw the beautiful waterfalls through Provo canyon. We went down the Alpine Slide which Oakley had to do herself and loved! But we also had to ride the lift up which scared the crap out of her! She refused to look down or look behind us, and had a death grip on my arm the whole time. I didn't know she was so scared of heights! After we did the slide we went to the Columbia store to buy some winter coats for the kids. While we were there Kix decided to run away from us. Seriously we couldn't find him for like 5 minutes. I almost had a heart attack! I was thinking horrid things like someone had snatched him. It was HORRIBLE! Finally we found him and decided that we probably should invest in those kid leash things. I've always thought they were crazy, but with a kid like Kix you definitely need something like that!
After that fun adventure we drove to Salt Lake, got some dinner, and a hotel room. It was Kixs first time in a hotel and he did really good. We went swimming before bed which is always fun. And it was nice to not be in a mad rush to get to the church on time the next morning.
The baby blessing was very nice. Brent did a good job and Cadence look pretty in her dress. We went and had some lunch afterward where Kix spilled pop all over him and so the wasps that were there kept trying to land on him. One succeeded and he was so scared he screamed bloody murder. We all thought it had stung him, which thankfully it didn't! After that he climbed in my lap and made me hold him tight! Oakley was playing on the playground with all the cousins and having fun during all this! We decided to take the kids to Cabelas on the way home since Kix has never been and its been a while since Oakley has been there. They LOVED the fish tanks! And it was fun to watch their faces as they saw things like the Zebras, the Bears, or huge elk. If any of you have never been to Cabelas and you have kids (or even if you don't) you should definitely take them. Even if you aren't a hunter. It is cool to see all the mounts they have.
Finally we were on our way home. We got home, unpacked, made a little dinner, and it was time for bed. Thanks Cade for taking us out for such a fun weekend! I love spending time together as a family!

Grandpa Riding

Cades Grandpa Riding passed away on the 11th of this month. His funeral was Friday. It was sad but happy. It's always hard to say goodbye to someone you love, but knowing that he is with Grandma again and that he is happy and healthy makes it alot easier. Grandpa was an amazing person, and always made me feel like part of the family. I always felt like a granddaughter and not just someone who married into the family. We love you grandpa you will be missed!
